On thursday 27th of April the film The Antifascists will be premiered for the first time in the Netherlands. The premier will be held in the anarchist bookstore Opstand in Den Haag.
A low intense war is being fought on the streets of Europe and the aim is on fascism. This documentary takes us behind the masks of the militant groups called antifascists. In 2013 a group of armed nazis attacks a peaceful demonstration in Stockholm where several people are injured. In Greece the neo-nazi party Golden Dawn becomes the third largest in the election and in Malmö the activist Showan Shattak and his friends are attacked by a group of nazis with knives and he ends up in a coma. In this portrait of the antifascists in Greece and Sweden we get to meet key figures that explain their view on their radical politics but also to question the level their own violence and militancy.

27-4-2017: Nederlandse filmpremiere The Antifascists
Op donderdag 27 April 2017 zal de Nederlandse première van de film The Antifascists plaatsvinden in Anarchistische Boekenwinkel Opstand in Den Haag.
Er wordt in de straten van Europa een kleinschalige oorlog gevochten, en het doelwit is het fascisme. Deze documentaire neemt ons mee achter de schermen van de militante groepen die zich antifascist noemen. In 2013 viel een groep gewapende nazi’s een vreedzame demonstratie in Stockholm aan waarbij gewonden vielen. In Griekenland wordt de neonazi partij de Gouden Dageraad de derde grootste partij en in Malmö wordt de activist Showan Shattak en zijn vrienden aangevallen door een groep nazi’s met messen, hij belandt in een coma. In dit portret van de antifascisten in Griekenland en Zweden ontmoeten we sleutel figuren die hun radicale standpunt belichten maar ook reflecteren op hun gewelddadigheid en militante attitude.
